- Fluoride
Fluoride
Fluoride helps prevent cavities in two different ways:
Fluoride concentrates in the growing bones and developing teeth of children, helping to harden the enamel on baby and adult teeth before they emerge
Fluoride helps to harden the enamel on adult teeth that have already emerged
Fluoride works during the demineralization and remineralization processes that naturally occur in your mouth.
After you eat, your saliva contains acids that cause demineralization a dissolving of the calcium and phosphorous under the tooth’s surface
At other times when your saliva is less acidic it does just the opposite, replenishing the calcium and phosphorous that keep your teeth hard. This process is caused remineralization. When fluoride is present during remineralization, the minerals deposited are harder than they would otherwise be, helping to strengthen your teeth and prevent dissolution during the next demineralization phase.
- Sealants
Sealants
Dental sealants are plastic coatings that are usually placed on the chewing (occlusal) surface of the permanent back teeth — the molars and premolars — to help protect them from decay.
The chewing surfaces of the molar and premolar teeth have grooves — “fissures” — that make them vulnerable to decay. These fissures can be deep, are difficult to clean, and can be narrower than even a single bristle of a toothbrush. Plaque accumulates in these areas, and the acid from bacteria in the plaque attacks the enamel and cavities can develop. Fluoride helps prevent decay and helps protect all the surfaces of the teeth, dental sealants provide extra protection for the grooved and pitted areas by providing a smooth surface covering over the fissured area.
Restorative & Cosmetic Care
- Dental implants
Dental implants
Dental implants have become the viable treatment option to replace missing teeth and are now referred to as the “standard of care” for replacing missing or failing teeth. A dental implant is a small titanium device that serves as the replacement for the natural root portion of a missing tooth. Acting as a substitute tooth root, the natural tissue in the bone bonds to the implant, forming a stable foundation for permanent replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Dental implants actually help preserve the bone by providing the stimulation that was previously provided by natural tooth roots. This also helps maintain the integrity of the facial structure.
Dental implants are secured into the bone to provide long term support for the crowns and dentures we can provide.
- Implant supported dentures
Implant supported dentures
The use of dental implants to stabilize dentures has proven to be successful for many people.
Millions of people around the world are missing enough teeth to require the use of a denture. Many of them struggle to keep their dentures secure, particularly in the lower jaw. If you have this problem, you already know about the embarrassment of slipping dentures, not being able to eat the foods that you love and the ineffectiveness of denture adhesives. Fortunately, there is a way to make your denture work the way it was intended: stabilize it with dental implants.
Benefits of denture stabilization
- Restores proper chewing, allowing a better diet and improved health
- Improves speech and confidence
- Increases comfort with less irritation of gum tissue
- Invisalign
Invisalign
Invisalign was created to straighten your teeth without wearing braces so your treatment looks virtually invisible. Invisalign uses a series of removable custom-made, nearly undetectable aligners. Because you remove your aligners before you eat and drink, there are no food restrictions or problems with flossing or brushing. This technology is also more comfortable, avoiding the mouth abrasions that can be caused by the metal and wires of conventional braces. It works for a wide range of people whose teeth are too crowded or have spaces between them, as well as for those whose teeth may have shifted after having worn braces in their youth.
Treatment duration depends on case severity which ultimately determines the number of Aligners you need. However, the average length of treatment is about 12 months.
If you are interested in finding out if Invisalign is right for you, please contact us for a complimentary individual evaluation.
- Pola Tooth Whitening
Pola Tooth Whitening
White teeth convey youth and self-confidence. The problem is not everyone is born with perfectly white teeth. Genetics, aging, medications, foods, and beverages all play a role in the color of your teeth. You can have a brilliantly white smile without harming your tooth enamel and Millennium Way Dental Studio can help. We offer advanced whitening solutions for either at home or coupled with in office. We are also happy to offer bleaching services to teenagers!
- Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are a very successful option in many situations where the original tooth has developed poor color, shape, and contours. It is also a good choice for fractured teeth, gaps between teeth, and in some situations where the tooth position is compromised and there are minor bite-related problems. For some people, superficial stains do not respond well to tooth whitening or bleaching. In these situations, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.
- Root canal therapy/evaluations
Root canal therapy/evaluations
Endodontic treatment (Root Canal Therapy) treats the inside of the tooth. Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, faulty crowns, or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, trauma to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.
During root canal treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth.
- Tooth colored fillings
